Gulf Air: flights to Santorini

Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has launched flights to Santorini in Greece from mid-June, with flight GF034 arriving at Santorini International Airport on 16 June.

Prior to departure from Bahrain International Airport, passengers were given special boarding passes and commemorative certificates to celebrate the airline’s first flight from the Kingdom of Bahrain to Santorini.

According to a report by money-tourism.gr, the flight took place on the newly commissioned Airbus A320neo aircraft, which has 16 Falcon Gold seats and 120 economy seats.

Commenting on the recent addition of Santorini to the airline’s summer network, deputy managing director captain Waleed AlAlawi said: “Earlier this month, Gulf Air operated its inaugural flight to Mykonos and with the launch of Santorini flights, the airline aims to strengthen its network with popular boutique beach destinations that are popular with many tourists and families in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the region. These strategic additions are being implemented as demand for travel gradually increases towards the summer holidays and travel restrictions are reduced in Europe.”

Both Mykonos and Santorini will have Gulf Air flights until the end of September with bi-weekly frequencies.
